Sack Dress

What-oh-what to wear with my new heather gray sack dress, photo courtesy of American Apparel? I suppose most people would be kind enough to dub it a "t-shirt dress", but I find the more appropriate term to be "sack dress". I don't know but it resembles a sack when I am wearing it.

Such a plain piece obviously needs jazzing up, so I plan to wear it with my hematite peace sign necklace and brown leather gladiator sandals. I think it makes for a simple summer look and I plan on wearing it to a Bob Dylan concert next week (Extra-hippie street cred for the necklace!). But the one catch is - I don't own gladiator sandals of any sort. This poses a definite problem in completing the outfit. Can any style mavens suggest what type of footwear I should don with my lovely new sack dress? No flip-flops. God, I hate flip-flops.

well i'm no self-proclaimed style maven, but i'd like to help you out...
i think that slouchy suede booties would look amazingly cute with your dress.
if you're not fond of that idea, maybe some strappy sandals? and if not that either, then maybe some flip-flops? you seem to adore those so much ;] oh no, even better, crocs...

i'm sorry to all croc owners out there.
i really am.
i hear they're extremely comfortable, and i'm sure they are, but i believe that you could find some that aren't so abstruse and -

i'll stop.

have fun at the bob dylan concert though!

How can you not like flip-flops?? I couldn't live without them.

I love the necklace though, how about wearing wedges or espadrilles? I think if you had teh right pair, it would look goo. Or the slouchy boot things like they said above.

beat-up black hightops.

add one of those really grimy looking printed scarves for extra hippie cred ;)

Um, hello? If you are looking for hippie cred, go barefoot! Or you could wear your Birkenstocks.

I just received these in the mail yesterday and they're great. I think they'd work well with the "sack dress".

I had never heard of him, to be honest, but I Googled him and I must say he's pretty hot! Kind of a big mouth, but those lips waaay more than make up for it.

As to your delimma?
Well, if you can't wear gladiators... buy some :]
Or, make them. Just to be, well, irritating, I must say I live in flip-flops but they are pretty unfashionable admittedly. Good luck, because I think nothing much would look good with the dress than sandals (flats are so boring these days.)

althought the slouchy suede boots mentioned would be really really cute, they'd probably get a little hot. and wedges/heels would hurt way too much.

even though you don't like flip flops, i think leather ones like these (in brown) would look good, if you really can't get your hands on a pair of gladiator sandals.
