I've pretty much been listening to the Pixies nonstop for the last month (making it a little hard to come up with post titles when the same lyrics are always stuck in my head), and the first musician to break that spell is...PJ Harvey.
I've been familiarizing myself with her music through Youtube, and not only is her music captivating and visceral - so is her style! She's always wearing these glamourous high heels/make up and looking generally awesome while just killing it musically. I really admire her.

When we first started dating my now fiance told me that I look like PJ Harvey. Not knowing much about her, I responded "Is that a good thing?" He replied with a "Heck yeah, I wouldn't tell you that you looked like someone if I didn't think they were attractive!" Then he bought me one of her albums. Oh the memories. I think I still have an old Bust magazine with her on the cover..
I love PJ. I think I listened to nothing but To Bring You My Love for all of 1995.

I love her song "The Letter", however it is the only song of hers I know. I'll need to remediate this.
Also I'm going to suggest you get the song Souljacker Part 1 by The Eels if you haven't heard of it. It seems up your alley.
Haven't listened to her in a while, was all over that in the 90s, her music and videos are so haunting.
The only song of hers that I consistently listen to This is Love. The faces she makes in that video are the best.

She's great looking, very edgy. I'll have to come back for a listen when I don't have "the Wiggles" playing in the background (I'm with my grand daughter).
I've heard a couple of her songs, & I think I like her! I just remember this one episode in the first season of Gilmore Girls where....well, I really shouldn't go into it, because then I'd just sound pathetic. But I'll check PJ Harvey out more, when I'm not supposed to be studying.
I love PJ Harvey. The first song I heard by her was "Down By The Water" from a pilfered mix cd that was left in my school's darkroom.

yeah i've been listening to her for yearrrs. ever since i first heard her w/ thom yorke in "this mess we're in" and her w/ bjork covering satisfaction. she's amazzzing.
Pj Harvey is pure awesome, but "dress" is not one of her best works. I would recommand rid of me or to bring you my love!
