My favourite places to take pictures around the house is definitely in front of the climbing foliage on the garage - however, either my face or my clothes tend to get hideously overexposed by the light whenever I pose here. This time it's the dress, which I got in a care package from the Stylish Wanderer (<3!). It's a beautiful silk dress and the colour is actually quite vibrant, more or less as shown in the picture below. Since it is the only pink piece of clothing I own, I added ripped tights and witchy flat ankle boots to make it suit me.

i love the print. it looks like a wonderful, light summer dress!
I like that dress. It's definitely pretty cool for being pink.
That is a cool spot to take pictures. You might see if your camera has an exposure setting (most do), so that you could turn down the exposure a bit.
Ooh, I love the contrast of the girly pink dress and the ripped black tights and boots. That is a pretty place to take pictures, so frustrating that you get overexposed.
i absolutely adore the torn tights :)

man nothing beats florals and black tights :D
very feminine, very cute!
I really love the fine contrast created by wearing the girly dress and the black heavy boots, though the boots aren't so heavy. it's near perfection.
Love your whole outfit!

i love your ripped tights
and your blog is amazing, would you like to trade links?
try downloading picasa3(if you have a pc). it's a really easy tool for improving overexposed photos, as well as other simple adjustments. the dress looks super cute though!
Just to reiterate what Amelia said - even p&s cameras have exposure compensation. The dark foliage is overpowering you. You want to underexpose (not allow as much light in) which is probably -1 or so on your camera. Experiment and I'm sure you'll be able to find the right balance!
(love those shoes in the previous post!)
