The entire contents of my free Topshop canvas tote are: one wallet, one mp3 player, one stainless steel reusable water bottle (because only idiots pay for something that comes for free out of a tap), and three Hershey's kisses. Does this make me a minimalist? I tend to carry around only a few items with me, but I refuse to call it the "bare minimum", because really, what the heck else do I need to carry around with me at all times? I completely hate the idea of lugging around a massive bag filled with make-up around with me all day - anything requiring constant re-application isn't worth the worry, in my eyes.
But with all that being said, I have been stalking vintage Gucci bags on eBay and I am determined to MAKE ONE MINE before this summer ends. Perhaps then I can come up with a satisfactory bag post.
Oh, and and outfit from last week that I never got around to posting!

I totally agree. I don't even have water because my body seems to naturally preserve it really well. I only drink liquid once a day, in the morning.
So my bag's contents are: Wallet, Cellphone, key, sometimes passport (because i lost my drivers license) and occasionally some lipstic. And that's the long list

ha! very true, why pay for something that comes free. in my purse i always carry a page from a comic book (any, but preferably calvin and hobbes), and also cheesy cheap restaurant business cards. they make good luck charms, i swear.

I like your shoes. I agree with you on waterbottles too. But I am a minimalist everywhere but my bag, I can't seem to leave the house without a book handy and various other odd items (safety pins, often a needle and thread, etc), but no make-up, in case you're concerned for my sanity. ;)

Hey Andrea K - I did a little research on LA tap water and found a lot of conflicting reports. It doesn't sound great, but it sounds drinkable at least. But then again, I've never been to LA so it could be horrible.
simple is spot on, especially with the water bottle, i think bottled water is one of the biggest money spinners for big companies because it costs nothing for them to produce but we happily spend spend spend on it!

a good friend of mine came to visit me last weekend and she shows up all "oh check out this bag my grandma was going to give to goodwill"...only a little vintage black gucci cross body bag...i died. i don't think she fully appreciated it's godliness (not a word?)
and i wish i was as minimalist as you regarding my bag. im carrying around 3 books at the moment and god only knows what else.

haha i totally have pretty much the same view on toting bags. i keep it to a minimum. but mainly because i get back-checked everytime i leave my work so i dont want to have to spend like 5 minutes shuffling through all the crap!
I agree on the fact that i would never lug around lots of makep and that only idiots buy things you get for free.
