This is what I wore to work today: werkin' the batwing top, bow skirt and cage sandals. The skirt is vintage YSL Rive Gauche and the first (and only) investment designer piece I've ever bought. It's incredibly special to me, so it doesn't get worn out all that often. I know it's stupid to not wear the things you love, but it's so difficult to wear and tear the pieces you cherish.
Then I went home and changed into THIS:
Do you know what ecstasy feels like? (Not the drug). Because I'm pretty sure it feels like these floral leggings that just arrived in the mail from iheartnorwegianwood. I've been wanting to buy something from Angie's Etsy shop for ages, but I'm just not a "cage skirt" kind of girl. But when I saw these leggings go up for sale, I knew they were it!
I'm utterly in love - they were worth every penny!
On a final note, I'm going away for the weekend and will be computerless so don't expect much from me until Sunday.

whoah! i love the leggings, they are every kind of amazing. i've only seen the cage skirts from that site, they're pretty but don't seem particularly functional. maybe now i'll give it a better look.

I found this amazing white cropped vintage jumper in Paris and I just can't bring myself to wear it. What if I spill red wine on it? I can't do it. I think pieces like your skirt just need to be hung up on the wall: You might not wear it all the time but at least you can ogle at it's magnificence all the time. Also, totally awesome leggings.

Lovely skirt, but I understand about not wearing it much. I have a couple dresses I deem my fancy dresses, and if I wear them more often they will no longer be special or fancy. Does that make sense?

Those leggings are perfect! I went to the etsy shop but they are beyond my budget. Also, I am the same way about my special clothes, they spend more time being gazed at fondly in my closet than they do on my person out and about :~)
