Hours and Hours

I spend my days at work singing along to the Breeders in my head and daydreaming about Vivienne Westwood Pirate Boots. Somebody please buy these so I don't have to?

So I bought this crazy asymmetrical batwing cape thingamajig from Babooshka Boutique on Etsy, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm slightly disappointed. The v-neck is massive and it feels like I'm wearing a really wide crop top (ewww. As much as I like the whole "overdramatic draped look" on other people, this piece is sort of steering me away from experimenting further with that look on myself. Perhaps I can convince myself that it's an inexpensive version of Comme des Garcons?

At least I have this H&M star print dress I got for free at a swap meet and my super cheap clearance rack Aldo heels to cheer me up!

I bet that could be fixed by a friend with a sewing machine..

I quite like the drapey effect, maybe it just needs to be layered over something a little more fitted, a tight dress of some skinny jeans. Those shoes are super cute too!!

ohh i love vivienne westwood's pirate boots. i've got a pair of top shop look alikes but they're black and more ankle boot-y. i like the cape thing. i think its really cool. it would look wicked with a pair of jeans and simple tshirt underneath.

Love the shoes. eBay finds are so hit and miss--there's nothing quite like being able to try things on in stores.

Those V.W. boots totally remind me of you. I really like the way you pulled the cape up high in the front and low in the back. I think you've got the right idea.

I like how it looks from the back, but it does look like a really awkward crop top from the front. The dress looks cute, though.

I absolutely agree about smaller thrift stores, but unfortunately the small ones near where I live have all closed up. There's some really good ones near where my grandparents live. (And thanks about the hair!)

Personally I like the batwing cape thing, as it is very Batman remisicent, but I can see how that could be weird/not practical to wear.

I was just going to say that i really liked your cropped top but i didn't realize the back was so long! That makes it different though! Very cool.

Hmm the drapey cape thing is nice from the back, but I think you're right that there's something off about it. But if anyone can work it, I think you can!

I like the "dis-placed" feeling some of your ensembles exude. they seem off and odd, but they come together in z mix you wouldn't think would...and that's where you pull them off!

I personally think your cape looks divine. Hey! I have the same heels, but in black.

aww damn if it doesn't live up to expectations, I do think it suits you though. The way it drapes does looks v. Comme.

And yeah the Hawksley song is awesome, I like the fact that he sounds like a more poppy version of Mark E Smith (actually, thinking about it he's a much better singer)

That's too bad you don't like your cape because I was thinking you look fabulous in it! This is actually one my favourite outfits on you :)

You are definitely working it. Reminds me of the lady in Breakfast at Tiffany's, the one that is looking after George Peppard, with the sexy turban. Yeah.
