I wore this outfit to work on Thursday - most of the outfits I wear on the weekend don't deserve their own outfit post. Which happens to remind me of how much I staunchly disagree with this Alexander Wang quote: "Anyone can get all dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their off days, that are the most intriguing." Honestly, If I thought you guys would be intrigued by sweatpants, then I'd be better off not writing a "fashion blog" now wouldn't I? Sure there are some people whose version of dressing down doesn't involve looking like crap, but I on the other hand would never feel compelled to dress well if I wasn't allowed an off day once in a while. Gimme a break, I'm a not a soulless fashion cyborg!
But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate shoes (et cetera) more than the average person. This particular pair was thrifted last summer, and I haven't found a better looking (or fitting) pair of vintage t-straps since!

I totally agree. When I first saw that quote I thought, "what? people are intruiged by boxer shorts?"
But I think what he means is how people dress when they are not dressed fancy for a party, not when they are lounging. Because frankly, I doubt anyone is particularly interested in that.
Lovely shoes. I, in general, don't agree with Wang--I just don't see his "genius." And erm, in today's world it doesn't seem like everyone can dress up and look nice...
Wow, those shoes are so dowdy cool. But much more cool than dowdy! ;)
very nice vintage shoes :D
I love your shoes!
Though the front of the shoes look a bit awkward but after staring at it for a while more, it kind of looks cute(:
is this a fashion blog? you dress like my mom and no, no that is not a good thing. what up with the wang reference? i expect someone like you would only shop at salvation army.
I like this outfit very very very much. I haven't really been dressing up for the past couple of days so cardigans and loose tanks/tees sound so good to me right now. And I'm in absolute awe of that Joy Division tank!
My off days are seriously uninteresting so I'm also in disagreement with Alexander Wang. My off days consist of jeans, an oversized band tee and potato chip crumbs on my chest.
argh! like like love love ur brown vintage shoes!
i never see it before!
You own sweatpants? Isabel-I'm shocked!
I do howvwer, love these shoes, theyy remind me of kids running aroun after ice-cream trucks in the 60s-if I were alive in the 60s, that is.Oh well, whatever, nevermind.

i love t-strap shoes! and that shirt you're wearing, is it fringe-y or is that just the pattern?

Oooh I love those shoes!
Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree with that quote too. No one wants to see me on my off days, haha.
Those shoes are really cute man. They look good with jeans.
ahh, i love this outfit! amazing.
I think Alexander Wang had too much time on his hands.
Your shirt is the bomb!
Your mom's plants are looking pretty good too, she's got a green thumb.
i love t straps . ooh and that quote (wang) sounds nice but like many "cool " quotes when you think about them they are pretty ridic
You look cute. And Alexander Wang's stuff isn't really my style....
Damn you and your delicious anonymous haters!
Anonymous, can you swing by my blog??
If my mom wore a Joy Division t, I'd be pretty confused...
OMg those shoes are FAB!!
I love the shoes. And anything you wear that involves that joy division tank is always fantastic. And wow, that anonymous comment is ridiculous. Anybody's mom that dressed like you would be a really cool mom, and what's wrong with thrift shopping?
Oh, I love your style so much! Cute shoes :)
I swear, I've been trying to find shoes like those for ages.
I want some simple, nice, leather shoes that'll go with anything.
However, there are, like, ZERO vintage shops where I live. -__-
everyone's raving about the shoes...though i love, i think i'm fallen for your joy division shirt. such a fan!
:D
I like that shirt. I think the quote is about what people throw on when they actually consciously think of the day as their "off-day," which I think is still pretty interesting.
awesome joy division shirt-from one fan to another
I am in love with those shoes. True love. It is the Real Thing.
