I don't usually like pink, but...

Thanks be to Betsey Johnson, who has single-handedly reaffirmed my love for bizarre knitwear. Maybe my next knitting project can consist of weird shorts that look oddly like candy floss. I think I'm getting a sugar high just from looking at this picture. It is also hypnotizing me out of the deep, dark pit of hatred I've always had towards black lipstick.

I'm also harbouring an odd love for these patchwork jeans. Laura Ingalls Wilder would wear these if she listened to Mudhoney. They'd make a simple DIY, but I don't have any pants I want to experiment on.

(Both pics are from Knight Cat)

My head is telling me 'knitted shorts....eurgh', but I really like them! If only I could pull off pink.

oooh, I like both, but the patchwork jeans are especially nice. I like how the patches and the jeans are all sort of monochromatic. No bright colors popping out.

Woow at the first picture. I kind of like it too.. despite the black lipstick. I used to have a Betsey Johnson dress, but I think it's still in Texas.

Oh, I'm in deep deep love with that first outfit!! I think I would look too much like I'm 12 if I wore it, but she looks awesome. And I agree with you on pink because I'm usually one to flout it but this outfit/pic is definitely the exception to an otherwise unpleasant color (even though I do have a pink dress...such a hypocrite, I am!).

I think I'm going to try and use dictionary.com's Word of the Day either in comments or blog posts. Otherwise, I never remember the darned things! I thought it was funny when you said that you get the e-mails too! They are fun and they're helping me become vocab savvy, two things that are good in my book.

And oh, yes! I think you should totally do a music retrospective list!! I'd love to read/see it. I was going to make it a tag but I don't know many bloggers that'd be into it (of course, you were one of the few I would've wanted to see!).

i loved those patchwork jeans when i saw them as well. they're really cool and fantastic.

i've also almost bought the disco pants myself, and yes, and like yourself, i don't regret not buying them either ;)

The new Betsey Johnson line is fab! The colours and everything. And I love how there's a food name for every outfit. Adorable XD

I wish I could knit. Well, I can knit, but not well enough to even make a scarf ): My gramma is very disappointed in me.

I'm over Betsy, but I love those jeans!
At first glance, I thought that was you in a wig, although I don't know why I thought you would do that.

I strangely like the patchwork jeans, too. Definitely reminds me of something I would have worn when I was in middle school except vastly improved.

Betsey Johnson...she's like a drug. Sometimes I feel like saying "Betsey, really don't you think you should stop going to the prom through your collections?" And other times I say, "Oh, Betsey take me with you!"

p.s. Is it me, or do people wearing black lipstick look like children who have been eating bluberries? I just have this mental block about it.

Oh wow. I always try & get my mum to knit me stuff but she never gets round to finishing them. Are you familiar with clare tough's work? She knits & crochets the most beautiful & weird dresses & garments I've ever seen.

Not black lipstick, try a really deep plum! It almost looks black....that was my standby in my goth years.
Now I like sunshine and happiness.

patchwork pants!!!!! i did that to a pair of pants when i was in 5th grade (1995). which means that all the fabric scraps must have consisted of coveted mid-90's prints. i thought i was the coolest girl in school! but im pretty sure eveyrone else just thought i was weird. great blog!
