Pintucks, Pleats, Prada

Now that my "frosh week" duties have ended, I finally have time to catch my breath. Classes start tomorrow, and I couldn't be more pleased since it feels like I've been waiting so long to return to University. "Gender, Culture and Technology" looks like it's going to be my most interesting class.

I bought these pointy leather Prada boots right before I moved, and was waiting for the perfect outfit to wear them before they made their blog debut. Basically, I stumbled upon them at a local consignment store, and I knew they were meant for me since the store was having a 50% off sale. I figured that $75 was an excellent deal for quality leather boots let alone Prada boots, so I splurged. They're basically my favourite pair of footwear that I have ever owned and will cherish them until my dying day.

I am so enjoying reading back through your blog, which I may have found before but have recently re-discovered... At the moment I have two main thoughts to share #1 you remind me of winona ryder (which is of course a wonderful thing) and #2 you appear to have the most brogues of anyone on the planet. (also a good thing) how many pairs exactly?!?

Isa, you have taken putting an edge on a soft look up a notch with those Prada boots, excellent choice! But it's your hair that steals the show and makes the outfit outstanding. Did you pin it up a little in the back? Also, your soft lip color is awesome.

Hello Isabel! Those boots are magnificent, but I think the lace dress totally stole the show if you don't mind me saying so.

I really love the pairing of white dresses and black tights, and those boots don't hurt the whole thing either. Very cute!

Love the dress too, you look like a character from a Tim Burton film.

Me too! When I first read Helter Skelter, I had found it on a bookshelf at home (must have been my dad's) and was totally intrigued. I knew my mom wouldn't want me to read the book, so I used do it sneakily up in my room and pretend I was reading Harry Potter if my mom came in.

By the way, Charles Manson is up for parole again in 2012...which is also the year the Mayans thought the world would end. Creepy!

Great outfit; love the contrasting pieces.
P.S. On the post above, I still get/got stressed about the first day of school...first impressions and all that.
