Runny Nose

So, ummm, don't kill me here - but am I the only singular soul out there who completely hates these Ashish for Topshop leopard shoes? I usually love leopard print, but this stuff is just cartoon-ish. And the shape looks like some kind of awful joke. They're not elegant at all! I'm clearly missing out on something, because for the life of me I just fail to understand what everyone finds so alluring about these goddamn shoes.

I totally agree with you, I saw that http://www.taghrid.cc/ was looking foward to gettithese in the mail and It's one of the only times I've disagreed with a choice of hers.

But to each his/her own, eh?

Malena said...

um.. They are hideous. So I'm with you.

They're so vile, I completely agree! I am lusting after a pair of Topshop studded brogues and leather buckle ankle boots though, payday cannot come quickly enough!

Oh God - Those are *horrid*

When I saw the picture at the top and the words 'don't kill me here-' I thought you were going to say you liked them!!

I couldn't imagine anyone fashionable wearing those clunky things.

Ida said...

NO, i hate them too!!

Hammy said...

No, they're hideous.

The shitty part of the 90's.
Some fashion girls would cut off their fingers if enough blogs said it was the cool thing to do.
ughhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm torn. I think they might possibly be awesome peeking out from under a pair of elephant bells.

Yeah I know, I like shoes with a little platform, like the ones Alexa Chung wears, but this is getting way out of control... The other day I walked in a Spanish shop called Banco to find some horrid drag queen-like shoes -now don´t get me wrong, drag queens are good- but those shoes were.. WAY over the top, they look tucky and tasteless..

But those are even worse, they can only make your legs look like meat loafs... and peep-toe?? I-m sorry, I just don´t get the ankle boot peep-toe thingy, not for me.. either you wear sandals, or boots, but HOW ON EARTH DOES THAT MAKE SENSE!!??

I don't like them, but I guess I could see how some people might be able to pull them off. Maybe.

I just hate how everyone makes such a big fuss about Topshop shoes in general...I mean like Glinda put it in Wicked: they're just shoes whoooOOOh! *flaps hands* haha but yes. these scream fashion victim.

You are not alone! I've always thought they were pretty ugly.

I hate them too, although they're not as bad in plain black. I also hate the Acne wedges that certain bloggers are also gushing over. I just don't get it!

Miss Woo said...

I think people like them because they are weird looking, and weird looking shoes are kind of a..bloggers thing. Personally I just find them really uncomfortable, but I can't wear heels for shit so what do I know... :/

Matt said...

damn, if someone pushes you in those you can definitely break some ankles

dearilou said...

No way, these are ugly. It's too much. Too much wedge, to much print. I feel they would make any wearer look heavy at the feet. Who wants to look foot heavy?

Anonymous said...

oooh no I like it!!!

A Beautiful Party said...

i agree, these are terrible. i'd rather wear nikes and i hate nikes.

Funny how you always hate the nicest things.

They are just the next trendy Item that all the "Girls" HAVE to HAVE. They will be over in a week! They are boring!

lydia said...

nope...don't like it. just something about the print with the shape isn't right!

Mimi said...

I like them! The shoes are wedges, but still give lots of height! The shape is very interesting to me, which makes me want them even more! Need I say more? Okay, I will :3 haha the print is fantabulous as well. But hey, to each her own (pair of fave shoes).

The Fashion Tape said...

I admit, those shoes look like something a bad '90s band would be sporting, along with baby blue ankle swinin' flaires and plenty of hair gel.

i kinda see it. But I feel exactly the same about that stupid alexander wang jersey. Holy crao, it's a giant wollen jersey with holes in it. It looks mouldy, wtf?!!!

this is why i like your blog so much :)

Cami said...

totally agree with you.
they look like something Spice Girls would wear :D

matahari said...

hahaha, well i definitely won't be able to walk on those shoes, look at those heels, hmm i've been hardly managed to walk on any high heels though :P as i have none on my shoe rack :S

Glowing Doll said...

If they were free I might consider wearing them out to the supermarket as a joke or something but I would never consider spending serious money on them.

They remind me of Peggy Bundy.

Maddy said...

I can get why some people like them. They are super-duper-over-the-top. And they have that little peep toe that everyone is so jazzed about right now. Personally I'd never wear them. But you have to keep an open mind if you're into fashion, you know... I don't have to tell you that this shit gets pretty crazy.

Jess said...

Because of all that, it's about the cartoonish & the madness. Like you've over thought your whole black ensemble & then you stick a pair of those on the end just so people know you have a personality. & hey it's cheaper than some of the other crazy shoes out there!

Maddie said...

YES! Someone finally sees the light!
I just hate the shape off the entire shoe, and I really can't stand the little peep-toe in the front. So not elegant!

Ben Franklin is a craft store. I'll be working in the papercraft department, with all the scrapbooking stuff, but I'm excited about getting a discount on yarn, fabric, and paint.

riot str said...

Wow, at leat people react to them !!
Can you actually believe I almost wanted them for a minute BUT LUCKILY the weren't available.
That's good for 3 reasons : 1 they're ugly and i want to be pretty sometimes 2 they're expensive (and look cheap!!) 3 I go places by bike... and bike + wedges = OUCH
glad someone at least came to their senses

oh god, THANK YOU for voicing your disgust. these are positively heinous. they are like alien babies of cracked-out spice girl groupies. they are hideous and offensive. and everyone seems to love their trashiness! i hate this whole trash revival, this look people strive for - the glazey-eyed vague crackwhore look, complete with ridiculously expensive bits of ripped cotton which are supposed to make you look like a drunk slut. GAH IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY.

grace said...

hahah the iron chic's comment is pretty fucking true..

you are so right dude. they're cool because they've been deemed cool.

and congrats on the new apartment!!

Amelia said...

Thank goodness! I'm not alone. I think they're completely ridiculous.

T'Nealle said...

so bad, why would any one want to walk any were in these??

yiqin; said...

I acutally really like them -x

Danielle said...

Actually, they are kind of stupid...
The shape doesn't really make any sense, and I'm not that big a fan of animal print.

WendyB said...

I must confess I love the shoe in the zebra print. :-)

The Stylish Wanderer said...

woman, youre so right. i think people like them because theyre different? i dont know. apparently they are super tall, which makes them even more frightening.

btw, my word verification is boristsc which looks like boristic, which looks like an awesome name for OUR BAND. I dont know. I just like the name boristic for some reason....

See I love the cartoonish/crazy look...it's odd and that's what is wonderful.

i would not wear 'em

not down with the shoes either. i had been thinking the same thing.

BEE said...

I FUCKING HATE THESE SHOES TOO.
thank you woman.

Wanderlusting said...

It's only popular because the "big bloggers" make it so. Can't believe they have sold out at all the Topshops either...why want the same boots as everyone else?

I love animal prints and I love shoes and I love boots and I love wedges but I don't love these. I love my Jeffrey Campbell heels in a cheetah print but that's my take on the trend.
