Christmas is coming early...

OH FATE GODS, YOU SMILE UPON ME

Are you serious? Is American Apparel actually opening a new location a five minute walk from my apartment? PLEASE PINCH ME. No, even better. PLEASE HIRE ME. I am seriously considering attaching this picture to the back of my resume. I know what job I'm aiming for this summer...

This is probably not a big deal for anyone who lives in a major city centre, but I am a hick and the the closest American Apparel location has always been at least one hour away.

Haha. I don't have to deal with working for at least three more years. :D

cool! my closest aa is about 20-30 minutes away (not too bad), but it's just so much easier to order online...

I understand the excitement, where I live now I am at a 5 minute walk from an American Apparel. I warn you, it can lead to excessive spending. I got the high waist leggings today and am in loveeee.

They'd be crazy not to hire you. Good luck, Izzy. I really hope you get hired there.

Dream bigger babyyy
I've heard all the horror stories of working at the American Apparel here

Good luck with getting a job, the discount alone must be reason to work there!
My nearest one is about 2 1/2 hours away, boo!

ha! i know how you feel. i was actually "scouted," if that's the way to say it, twice when shopping there - they were like "HI blah blah blah hiring blah" and i was like "YES. oh wait. no. whoops. i already have my dream job." working at a bookstore is awesome, but working at AA would be a veeery close second. my friend works there, though, and yesterday there was a "friends and family" discount night. MAYBE i spent my entire last dream-job-paycheck there. maybe.

good luck with that!

I wish one would open in my town.
They would totes give you a job if they knew they'd actually featured you as a style inspiration! Do it!
You'll be slutting it up in an AA ad campaign next, if the rumours are true that all the 'models' are staff!

Eeep are you sure? The CEO is sooo creepy and gross! Plus you have to attach a picture of yourself when you apply- or you used to, which I think is probably vaguely illegal. That company just gives me the creeps. Do you read jezebel.com? Check their tags for AA to read lots of weird stuff about it.

Dream jobs So rarely are.

That being said, any clothing company that took one look at your blog and obvious talent would be foolish not to hire you.
Plain foolish. Having hired for retail off and on for a while, you should be a shoe-in, as long as you don't totally blow the interview.

omg omg OMG we will work there together, and it will be amazing. this just made my day so much better!

I know how you feel! While in London I have one just a short walk away, but when I'm at home the closest is all the way in NS!

Totally apply! Good part time job whilst studying?

Random reader here, twice your age, very much like your optimism and energy; if you decide to apply, then yes, you must most definitely enclose that screen print with your application - it's quite priceless, really.

I would so buy stuff from you at AA! Good luck. :-)

I hope it wouldn't mean you'd be required to dress like a tranny hooker....but I fear that may be mandatory.

Caileigh said...

clearly you were born to work there.
I say include the screen shot. They will get a laugh and then be like "we would be totes stupid not to hire her." because that's what i would think.
ps i love/miss you
pps seriously, let's skype soon

I can relate to all of the good stores being a bajillion miles away, that's why I catalog shop. I think they'd be crazy not to hire you, you should apply. xo d

Don't you find their portrayals of women more than a little degrading? To me it cancels out the fact that they are "vertically integrated." I wouldn't want to work under photos of women like this.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
