William, it was really nothing.

Sometime last week, I ventured deep into the bowels of a very clean, very respectable and very heavy-metal tattoo parlour and emerged a changed woman. The ink (if it wasn't obvious already) was inspired by Man Ray's famous photograph of Kiki de Montparnasse.

I'm incredibly happy with the way it turned out. I've wanted a tattoo of f-holes for about three years now, and I figured actually going through with it would be a neat way to commemorate my 20th birthday. It actually means a lot to me, since I've played the violin since I was 6 years old! Plus, I simply think that it is a beautiful motif.

when I first saw this I said, "that's bitchin'." which, as you should know, is my highest form of flattery.
but honestly I think this is a really neat, especially since it has some meaning. sheesh I wanna tattoo myself..... not sure I could handle the pain though!

I just saw your tweet and couldn´t resist to come and pay you a visit. WOW! The tattoo is big. I like it although I find it a bit risky. I mean, it is very noticeable, specially in the summer. It looks like you have well thought about it. brave woman!

That is the coolest tatoo and the coolest reason for getting a tatoo. You are a prostar fashion blog girl and violin player? holy moly.

Congratulations! It is wonderful!
I'm all for meaningful tattoos, that's why I'm still waiting to get my 4th one.
Oh and this is my first comment on your blog but I've been reading it for a while now.
Good healing!

Love it...but I would expect you to have had the line across the "f" curved...reminiscent of the Factory Records label that made Joy Division who they are!

So pretty! It really does look amazing. Congrats on such an excellent choice!

(it's funny though, I was just reading my friend's post on her blog about tattoos as well...)

There's something really classy-sexy about it. Very nice choice - it suits you well.

Maybe I'll ask for vlahg with a violin performance in a month or two. I don't want to ask too frequently.

The tattoos are great. Drooooolll(^_^).

Mmm, I've always thought the f-hole tattoos were rather elegant... which can rarely be said about a tattoo, I think! It's really neat that you did this! I'm turning 20 soon and have played the violin since I was 9, but I think my parents would freak if I did that... :D

Sometime probably in the not so near future i plan on getting the Unknown Pleasures album cover tattooed somewhere.
Hopefully i'll be able to handle the pain, hah

I'm not usually crazy about tattoos but that looks amazing! Congrats.

Congrats! It looks really good.

Did it hurt when they tattooed you?

Sometimes, I want to just go and get a tattoo myself, but then I really have no idea where, and how much it costs, and there's really no one to talk to about this.

GORGEOUS. That is such a beautiful photograph and just as beautiful inked on your body. I think it's wonderful that you went for the large, heavy, solid black f-holes. I've seen ones that weren't, and they just felt like a half-assed attempt. This is most definitely full-assed awesome.

My friend is thinking of getting the same tattoo. As a lover of music, and especially cello. I adore this tattoo, what a gorgeous choice

oh this is very beautiful. I'm not a fan of tattoos, they can obviously be tacky, but is genuinely lovely.

Isabel that is bloody amaaaaaaazing!!
I bet it hurt like a bitch.
When I got my eiffel tattoo, I found the only antidote to the pain was to munch Skittles in a really vigorous manner. It was pretty embarrassing for all involved - but it worked!

Wow! Happy birthday....did your parents freak over that or what?!
It is a very timeless tattoo...not like fairies or tribal arm bands.

i love that you waited so long, thus the end result means a lot, and looks beautiful. i've been waiting to get a tattoo myself, probably until after the wedding (i'm gonna go crazy, seriously considering dying my ends blue). my tat will be a tandem bicycle, my grandma used to sing me "bicycle built for two"...

I love it. I love that it means something special to you. One of my pet peeves are ugly tattoos that are non symbolic of anything. Yours is beautiful.
