So, in more news involving Targate - I caved in to the eBay pirates and bought the sequin-y ribcage dress. I couldn't resist! I really wanted this dress and my impulses just weren't saying no! Plus, I've always wanted a ribcage shirt but I kinda missed the boat before it turned into one of those exclusively 'cheer up emo kid' trends. Then when you add sequins its pretty much guaranteed to end up in my black hole of a closet someday.
In further news the proves I am a weird person (and possibly suspect of trying to fit in with lame teen subcultures), I have been SERIOUSLY lusting after a pair of coffin heels. They are the weirdest shoes ever, don't match with anything and wouldn't look out of place at a graveyard picnic but I don't care! Its hip to be square? Who knows, but they freak me out and I like it.

I have this picture in my mind of you in your skeleton dress and coffin heels, playing something sad/morbid on your violin. Seriously weird. :)
this outfit is amazing!! im glad that you were able to score the ribcage dress when the rodarte for target line first came out i was staking out for that dress but never found it!
This outfit is amazing and i think that you should definitely get the coffin heels!
I love this dress, it's so ridiculously awesome. Once again I am very jealous that I live in the UK. I love how you've contrasted it with the checked shirt and monochrome tights. I'm often told by a boyfriend that I'm a little emo, and it is true, I do have somewhat emo-ish tendencies clothes-wise. Damn liking bright colours and little cartoon people and skulls! Those coffin shoes would make you look like you were in a Tim Burton film, which is NEVER a bad thing. Cast those gothic associations aside and live it up Tim-stylee.
Your outfit is fabulous!!!!! You would fit in perfectly with all the other creatives at art school!
Oh my gosh, coffin shoes?? I've never seen or heard of these things but they look AMAZING. You could so pull those off.
And don't worry, I'm obsessed with lame teen subcultures, too (or maybe just fascinated with a lot of them).
Wow!!! so gorgeous! I love your topknot and those shoes are insane!

Call me predictable, but Donny Darko is responsible for ribcage shirt love. Yours is very lovely :)
I don't know what to think of those shoes, I think I would display them on a shelf, like many of my other shoes that I don't wear ahah.
So, i just discovered your blog and read the archives back to the summer (which made me sad because it's snowing and i have to wear a million layers to stay alive). But the point it, I'm in love. You wear things I wouldn't in a million years wear but you layer them so amazingly you make me want to wear them (does that make sense)?
Coffin shoes: yes! Where are the from? When I have money again (haha) I feel like I'll need them.
Thank you for existing, oh musing hipster,
Sarah Yvonne,
a potential hipster.
Seeing you in that dress with the buffalo plaid shirt just made all of my fashion bells ring out a holiday! You should definitely get the shoes too.
I just can't say enough how cool that combo is. cool cool cool.
Those are the craziest shoes! I love the ribcage dress with the plaid, it's a great combo.
xoxo
I love the ribcage, I kind of wanted it but I ended up with the mustard sweater. It looks amazing on you though !
that dress is awesome, but i'm not going to lie, i have trouble with those shoes... i love that you're so out there, though!
You are so wonderfully weird.
the dress is most amazing!
its good that you gave into the urge to buy!
coffin shoes plus that dress seem more goth than emo to me, but thats just me. and TIGHTS WOAH!
You pull it off so well! I love it.
I would never think to pair that dress with that shirt. Awesome look. And also coffin heels are awesome. It's a bell bottom.....on a shoe!
i love that double color legging
looks great!

I LOVE the dress and I especially love the two-tone tights against the wall, which made me think that you only had one leg that day for about 2 minutes x (not convinced re: coffin heels, though, I'm afraid!)
they are crazy! I'l love to see you style them though

Love the ribcage dress with the plaid and two-tone tights. Such an awesome mix.
Love the coffin shoes! And nice dress, verrh unique. I wish I could just shop for Rodarte @ a target store, but no Target here :'(. My parentals are wary of shopping for things online, even though my theory is that it's always cheaper online! XP
I tried to buy one of those from EBay and lost the auction... Maybe to you? ;) I'm going to keep trying, because I'm obsessed. It's my favorite Rodarte for Target piece.
MY GOD I LOVE THIS RODARTE FOR TARGET COLLECTION! I have the pale blue spotty dress and I lovvve it. shoes are also tres cool, I'm trying to figure out what it is exactly that reminds me of a coffin!

Coffin heels would look phenomenal on you! By any chance, do you remember the show What Its Like Being Alone that aired for just a little while on CBC a few years back? One of the characters, Aldous, had some sartorial preferences in common with you. Oh, and love how you styled the dress, of course.
Xo, Sarah
haha im going to fall into the trap too by getting the leopard dress, they rip you off but its still so worht it. I love your outfit with the dress

Ohh the heels really remind me of something you might find in a Tim Burton film! Very interesting design, but awesome!
I might be worried that they'd snap in the middle.

Oh man! I'm watching Donnie Darko right now (for the millionth time) and our dear ol' Donnie is wearing HIS ribcage shirt right now! Crazy times we're living in!
Very nice shoes, do you manage to walk with this?
Amazing outfit! These coffin heels are crazy, but I like them.
hello the picture on your title is kurt kobain ?
incredible shoes
O.K. where do you live, that this dress was available at your local target? cause every target I went to in a 50 mile radius didn't carry this.
I really really like this outfit. So last night i saw this post and i was like cool coffin heels never heard of them before they look nifty! and then last night i had this crazy dream about coffin heels someone was explaining to me that heel makes it so you dont trip when carrying a coffin...it was all very strange
I loooooove your tights, and those shoes are so awesome!
