Sweet and Tender Hooligan

Proof I am super busy: I took this outfit picture on Thursday and completely forgot to post it! Maybe its a good thing I forgot about it, because this rainy weather has totally zapped my outfit mojo. Anyways, I got a wonderful little package in the mail from my Grandma containing this shirt! It reads "Organic Farm Girl, Naturally Down To Earth", which is proof that I can never forget my rural roots, even though sometimes I try to. Plus, the flowers on the shirt mis-match with the flowers on my dress and tights, which is kinda awesome. I love you Grandma!

Those tights are great! I wish I had a grandma that sent me cool t-shirts, mine just knitted me Miffy sweaters when I was a kid.

I try to forget my rural heritage, too. It's no use. The little farmer voodoo dolls always come back to get you.

Amazing outfit, I love it all- the brogues, the old granny cardi, the flowery skirt and tights.... ok, actually, the tee shirts probably my least favourite bit, but it's still awesome.
The fact I still get excited by being two minutes from a pub instead of an 45 minute train journey exposes my rural roots. Also, when I get tired and start coming out with 'My luvvvveeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr'.
Also Anne, I wouldn't complain, I'd love some Miffy sweaters! But my nan was pretty amazing and made me a load of dress up outfits so I can't complain.
Sorry this comment's so long! xx

Just seeing those tights made my day, they are incredibly amazing.
I'm enjoying the mismatched floral here, you've pretty much mastered wearing floral in any which way.

often living in a city filled with skyscrapers, freeways, cars, pollution and so on can you make you distance yourself even more from those rural roots.

my mother and i are planning a trip to Mexico this summer and my mother is from a tiny town of about 200 or so people that only has one paved road that leads to the church and people still go to the river to wash clothes which is beautiful! I love thinking and talking about where my mom is from. My uncle is actually a farmer he grows pinto beans!

Back to your outfit! I love the various flower combinations of this outfit the shirt to the dress all the way down to the tights!! I still have clothing my grandmother gave me which I ADORE!

So nice to get packages in the mail eh? Especially from grandmothers.

My fave part of this outfit though are the tights!

Awesome tee :D
The tights are fantastic, but it's that cardigan I'm completely in love with. I saw so many proper woolly things like that in Scotland the other week but they were so expensive ><

I really like those tights with those shoes!

Sounds like an amazing shirt! Grandparents always send the best things at random times, don't you think?

I envy your "farmerness", I have always dreamed of being on a farm, amongst the animals. The best experience that I ever had on a farm was two summers ago when I was invited to my friend's parents' organic farm in Lytton. I got to have fantastic food and herd sheep.

I absolutely adore your blog. Your geek chic style is exactly the style that I've always admired, and your outfits remind me of Enid Coleslaw from Ghost World. :) I feel like we should be friends.
