You'll Understand

I've been noticing a distinct trend popping up all over the internet: calf-high white socks. It's such a hopelessly nerdy look, a classic case of "so bad it's good" and I can't help but adore it anyways. Especially with the clunky boots, it looks like should be attending a preparatory school! My new mantra is "nerd socks are cool". You heard it here first!

You know what else is so bad it's good? Sleeping in and then spending the rest of the morning watching trashy 80s episodes of Phil Donahue.

Oh boy, I love this look on you and the models pictured. But I just don't think I could pull it off myself! My calves are too big. lol. But if you can rock it, rock it! I know what you mean about something fashion-related being so bad it's good.

Oh, ironic fashion. ;D

I would say that your syle is totally "geek chic", but I think that's too broad, and also people shouldn't really label other people's fashion I guess. But i'll just say: you rock geeky things.

oh it is so bad it's good! That's awesome, and my previous sentence there had far to many short words in it.

I wonder if I could pull that off?
hmmm

love your shorts, by the way

OMG!

When I was little one of my father's sister's my Aunt Ana Rosa would always wear oversized button up flannel shirts or oversized T shirts with black spandex tights white socks mid calf and her Doc Marten's (which by the way she had about every color imaginable) When I was little I loved it and I actually still love it now! When I saw your look it totally reminded me of this!

I need to save up for some Doc Martens!

hahaha, this trend reminds me of what my dad used to wear on hikes -- khaki shorts with white calf socks pulled all the way up and Timberlands. I can't really get into the look but it's funny that it's becoming popular.

Also, Phil Donahue is fucking hilarious. Have you seen the New York hardcore Nazi punk episode yet? Some clips of it are here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igfoVyTnz0g

Oh nerd socks. How they make me happy. I really like your shorts. You always look so good in geek-wear (it's a compliment).

This look rocks. The polka dot blouse paired with the high waisted pleated shorts is so so perfect.

(What's the source on that last pic?)

You rock those socks! Though I certainly can not claim to have rocked these in the past, I definitely was a first where I live to wear brightly colored tights online to add a zest to ensembles.

I love coming across you and your unique style on lookbook! keep it up!

:]

I freakin adore the whole outfit! The white socks really make it though. I do tye-dye/ other weird socks with skirts/shorts all the time, but never thought of doing white... i shall have to make a trip to wherever socks are sold.

Where did you get your polka dot shirt? I'm completely in love with it and would like one of my own! I've been hunting, but it's hard nowadays to find something classic.
