Solid Gold

Decided to go for the 'modest' look today, so I added lacy petticoat shorts in order to NOT commit the unforgivable sacrilege of wearing leggings as pants. I haven't worn my dear old floral leggings in aaaages so it felt good to break them out again. Of course, I topped it all off with the classic massive band shirt (yay Pixies!) that I pretty much wear every day. The only thing missing from making this exactly like an outfit I would wear in autumn is Doc Martens and some sort of weird cardigan. In other news, there is a very loud fly buzzing around in my room and it is DRIVING ME CRAZY!

Just couldn't resist ending the post with obligatory caps lock.

open a bottle of wine. get out two glasses. fill each with wine. one for you to drink and one for the fly to land in and drown.

Love the floral leggings, and also glad you didn't go for the leggings as pants look. I saw a girl do that at work the other day, and I work for the government. Not so appropriate.. oh my.

such a simple yet fantastic idea... why don't people wear floral bloomers all day every day??

What is your favourite track? That's such a hard one for me but I've got to say Crackity Jones, Mr Grieves or Debaser
^^ see I just can't give one!

it IS a crime to wear leggings and a short shirt, I don't really get why people think that looks good. I need floral SOMETHINGS, because I have none.

My blogger hates me because I've attempted to send this same comment three different times, and it always shows up saying error to load page.

Here's to the fourth time.

Is that a death to the Pixies shirt?!

You're the only blogger I know (well, know, follow is a better word) that doesn't look like a silly little girl in floral leggings. What I'm saying is that you totally rock them. :D

THANK YOU for joining me in the battle against leggins. I think it is possibly my number one fashion hate. Why do people do it??? Ok, ENOUGH. Your outfit is superbly sexy. I don;t know, there's something about oversized Ts that make girls look incredibly...how to describe..."I'm with/in a band" ish. Hmmm. :)

For a moment I thought those leggings were sequined to boot and I started having heart palpitations and broke out into a cold sweat. Can you imagine if they did have sequins? The print is great regardless and go Pixies. They're playing here in Nashville this summer but it's at the Ryman and my hipster ass can't afford tickets. ;)

good post. I'm really glad you don't wear leggings as pants. Sometimes I put on a baggy, vintage shirt and I think to myself, "man, this is totally long enough to wear with leggings," and then I slap myself in the face and put on a pair of pants. If I had adorable floral leggings like yours though, I might actually give in to such a sin.

I love the lace peeking out from under your shirt! Very clever way of avoiding the leggings-as-pants epidemic that seems to be sweeping the nation. Today I saw a girl wearing nothing but a crop top and leggings. It was sort of gross.

I love the combination of the leggings and the shorts! And massive, worn-out band shirts are pretty much my favorite thing ever. Everything in this outfit is just perfect.

Holy mother...I just bought some lingerie-ish looking (ok, well they are lingerie. they were from Frederick's of Hollywood) shorts like that from a thrift store and I have been looking for a way to wear them...So, right on that you wrote this post because now I have a way to wear them and not look like a hooker!
