We're Just Crazy
As I've mentioned before, it gets hard to come up with creative ensembles when only wearing one particular brand of clothing. But sometimes the weirdly unexpected turns out well! I'm wearing all American Apparel today, but this is totally something I would wear outside work too. I bought the forest green vintage elf boots the very first time I thrifted at Value Village when I was 14, and I still have them. What a miracle they've lasted that long, since they tie the whole outfit together.
Also, I usually refuse to do "blog giveaways" because 99.9% of the time they are lame - but I am giving away two free tickets to The Clothing Show, which is taking place from Sept. 24-26 at Exhibition Place in Toronto. It's always a fun time and there are so many cool vendors, so if you are in the area just leave your email address in the comments and I will randomly pick two winners.

Wow! I wouldn't have expected that outfit to be completely AA. When I think of American Apparel, I just think basics (not plaid or lace). Looks great!
oh man, the clothing show is super awesome, i went two years ago, i keep forgetting every time it comes around again though.
my friend works at AA. its pretty sweet but, it must be super hard to wear just aa. all the time

They are cool elf shoes.
Awesome give-a-way, not at all lame-o.
Too bad Toronto is, like, 15 hours away from me.
I'm lame-o. I can't believe how stupid my comment is, sigh.
Love your outfit! Those forest green boots are amazing.... I'm looking for Doc Martins the same colour!
woah those boots lasted a long time!
love the whole outfit.
I'm not trying to win... I live on the other side of the ocean from you.
However I love those boots! I reall want a new pair of boots for the winter as mine have fallen apart and I keep lusting for lace up ones.
I think you look amazing. I dub this look "The Hot Librarian".

Yes your shoes are lovely and really tie the whole outfit together.
And ditto, too bad I live in London. x
Isa, I'd like to recommend a new blog to you (it's not mine). It's called Try to learn something about everything and everything about something. It's a nice blog for that "hanging out with my bff" vibe.

you look lovely as ever. you're still & will always be my favourite fashion blog ever. <3
Woo! Clothing shows are always a good experience - even when I just go to browse I end up walking away with something creative & unique. Fingers crossed!

The Clothing Show never disappoints for the best in vintage, new young designer and urban fashion choices. The prices are always right and the set up is supreme.
If you head right to the vintage section upon entering - you can be certian to score some great buys. I found a pair of Minnetonka mocassins there last year for $15! A Chanel bag for $40!
Please may I win?
WOW...I would totally love to write an article about this. I don't have much knowledge in Fashion, but I would love to see and learn more as a journalism student in t.dot.

I think it's really awesome that you work at AA and can wear that to work. Even though I can wear any brand to school/work, I can't wear anything actually... nice. ;)
Is that the lace bodysuit you're wearing? Cuz if so that's kind of awesome.
The clothing show sounds sweet! Too bad I don't live near Toronto.
Is that a lace bodysuit. AA is coming up.

I'd love to win! Digging through piles of old clothes sounds like my idea of a good time.
I'm a cheap date.
Isn't it annoying how much people are hatin on American Apparel lately cos of the CEO? It's the only ethical high street shop I have access to in London and now everyone wants it shut down, where were these complaints when big evil corporations like Tesco were taking over my home town?! It's funny how the shops that try and maintain more ethics are scrutinised the most. Crazzzy. Anyway looking good! I made a big order from the site the other day cos there was a huge sale. I always see that shirt in the Camden store but I don't think I could pull it off! x
Oooh! I love the Clothing Show! It's become an annual fall (and spring) ritual. The vintage section is my fave.
Your elf boots are ace! I love the forest green colour.
Ahh, your outfit is great once again, you look lurvly! I want those boots, you always have the best boots, hah! xxxxxxxxx

and allsooo, the sleeves of your top are fantastic.
Great tights, and there's nothing like oversized plaid for fall. Well done. Damn, wish I was in the Toronto area, I'd love to snatch those tix from ya.
