Ain't Born Typical

Ok, so why is it that I only start liking the 'cool indie bands' like 3 years after they first appear. IIt seems natural that I would be into a band like The Kills with a stylish, badass lady as lead singer but I was soooooo not into them back in 2008. I guess my musical tastes were clouded by too much Minor Threat/Bikini Kill back at age 18 because I am totally feeling them right now. Being late on the bandwagon is pretty much the perfect example of the 'first world problems' of white indie kids, no?
Also, today is definitely a day where the legendary phoenix sweater is happening. I didn't feel like wearing pants today so thigh-high socks it is!

Loving the mighty phoenix jumper... always loved a bit of the kills despite urban outfitters' attempts to overplay them a tad. x

I'm surprised you JUST got into The Kills but the good thing is it's never too late to enjoy good music. I'm about to see them for the 4th time in May :)

You know what I am going to say about that pheonix sweater.
I said it many months before and I will say it again, THAT IS MY SWEATER.

Excuse me, George, but I believe you are mistaken.
It happens to be MY pheonix sweater.
So, dearest Isabel, it would be lovely if you were to return it to me, though I will say, it looks ravishing on you. Don't tell the 'ol ball and chain I said that, though...

THE KILLS. I got into them first a couple of years ago when everyone was lavishing praise on Midnight Boom, and as time goes on I love it more and more. My boyfriend and I got to see Allison when Dead Weather came to Seattle, but the festival was organized horribly and we could barely enjoy the show. We definitely got tickets for their new tour the moment they were available, and the concert is on my birthday weekend! Can't wait.

And don't worry. Getting into indie bands 3 years after everyone else is way less mainstream, so inherently superior.

There's no such thing as too much Kathleen Hanna, my friend.

Did you make up a pattern for that sweater? It is so BA, I'm so intimidated by knitting sweaters, or really anything that isn't a scarf or a hat.
