Emotional

So I haven't blogged in a while because I had a lot of homework and my camera was malfunctioning and life kind of got in the way. But I hope everyone read the final installment of my LG Fashion Week coverage! Everything I'm doing here at University is starting to have an air of finality to it. I had to present my undergraduate thesis proposal as well as get graduation photos taken this week and it made me feel so old and tired and wasted. I have pretty serious goals but I'm not sure how I'll be able to achieve them when I'm always so worried about money. Anyways, thanks to the winnings of the WhoInspiresU video contest I was able to afford a new camera, so this blog isn't dead yet.

I've been trying to look a little fancy (read: adult) lately, always wearing heels and black pants and a scowl. But today I felt compelled to dress up a little more youthful than usual, seasonal appropriateness be damned. As always, thanks for reading my blog. You really have no idea how much it means to me that some people actually read this and kind of care about what I have to say. Mad love to everyone.

Oh my gosh this sunflower dress just gave me the best ever flashback to 90's amazingness.

Best of luck with your thesis proposal, I know it can be stressful but I'm sure you'll do spectacularly.

have you thought about doing a kickstarter (or something like it) for the magazine you want to make? I totally think you would meet your goal.

I love reading your blog. I too am graduating in the spring and am starting to freak out. It's nice to have a friend out there even though you probably will never know me!

So cute and quintessentially 90's. I swear I had a dress like this back in the day. Sunflowers = Smiles

I love this outfit! Everything about it is great. The sunflower dress kind of made me think of Michelle's sunflower dress from Full House so it goes with the whole embracing your youth thing.

Sigh, I know exactly what you mean about worrying about money. I also have a lot of goals.. and erm dreams. Dreams, that if I could turn in to reality, could actually be really successful but I need money. What a shame. Anyway, cute outfit oh and I love your blog btw, I've been following it for years.

I love love love this outfit! That dress reminds me of the kind of 90s stuff I seemed to have just missed the cutoff for as a child- those denim bucket hats with the floral appliques, Hanson, One Saturday Morning before it kinda sucked, the list goes on and on.
anyway, i have always loved reading your blog and you inspire me so much! good luck with whatever you do next- i am confident you will be successful and hope you take your readers along for the ride.

So basically, I just received PLANT magazine in the mail and I absolutely devoured it then cried out in sheer grief upon finishing it because I had no more awesomeness left to read (this prompted a strange look from my mother, I assure you) Anywho, the point of this was just to say how much I adore you, this blog, and, as of recently, your zine. I hope you keep this up til you're old and gray and still dressing like the rest of us mortals could never hope to measure up to, and I hope issue #2 of PLANT comes out soon because I surely cannot wait for it! You, Isabel Slone, are indeed my heroine.

You're ahead of the game. The scowl is the key to looking adult.

The vintage Coors sweater was an eBay find years ago! I also have a Budweiser one (original, not the recent Urban Outfitters repro). I always keep a saved search for other beer sweaters.

Not to be that person, but where did you get the shoes?? I have been looking for a sturdy/styly boot for a long while and these look like they might just fit the bill.
