Sometimes the shit hits the fan, and you decide that you really need new pants. I woke up yesterday frightfully disillusioned by all my leg coverings and decided that it was imperative that I to go to the mall and find a pair of tight yet comfortable black skinny pants. This sounds simple enough, but is actually a Herculean task when you don't have a standard body type. BODY, Y U NO FIT PANTS? It seems to me everyone has a pretty difficult time trying to find a great pair of pants. Is it some sort of retail conspiracy against big-hipped women? Luckily, these Gap skinnies fit the bill and were on sale to boot(y).
Also, it's rather entertaining that I'm wearing not one, but two designer Target collaborations! The cardigan is Rodarte for Target and the shirt is Paul & Joe for Target, which I magically thrifted.

This is such a cute outfit. I'm suprised The Gap has such nice jeans. I can't even remember the last time I've been to The Gap actually. I guess I should go check it out...

Pants are impossible. I've basically given up on them. These are a good find! They look great.
pretty certain there really is a retail conspiracy against big hipped women... trousers are always too big at the waistband, too tight at the hips and then just perfect on the thighs. Stupidness.
Looking very lovely though! :)
xx
I love that cardigan O.O
and yes, there is most definately a conspiracy against us with the big hips
wow, I didn't know the Gap had actually nice jeans. since I, too, have child-bearing hips, I rarely wear jeans and only own 4 pairs because it's so hard to find pairs that actually look and feel decent. what I hate most about jeans is that I'm 5'4", which is the AVERAGE height for a woman, and yet a lot of times when I buy jeans they're too long and bunch up at the ankles! and not just a little bit, like a huge amount of bunching. I don't understand that.
I can't decide which one is more annoying: buying jeans or buying bra... Both make me furious every time I'm in the fitting room. That's the one reason I prefer skirts and hardly never buy new bras :P
Do you have big hips? Those jeans make you look super skinny. I always find it odd me and my sister have a hard time finding good fitting jeans. Except she's super skinny and I'm 'curvy'.
It is ridiculously hard to find a nice pair of jeans, but you did a great job! I absolutely love this look - I'm so sad I missed the cardigan when it was available! So pretty.
I totally know what you mean. I am in between pants sizes and usually either have to wear a pair that feels too tight or one that is baggy and hangs off me. luckily i am a skirt/ dress girl!
your cardi is rockin'!
THERE IS A CONSPIRACY.
I find the best "leg coverings are usually at thrift stores. Also I love the outfit esp. jeans and shoes.
This is going to make me sound like a middle aged woman (I'm totally not!), but I always find the best jeans, thrifted or not, come from Reitmans. They have this "comfort fit" which is just really stretchy jeans. Fit like a DREAM.
And, hello, I second that bra shopping frustration above. Why is everything SO PADDED?!
I hate jeans shopping sooo much! But these look great!
