Animal House

On Sunday, I explored the Leslieville neighbourhood of Toronto with one of my favourite people (Julia!) and not only did we eat a delicious brunch, we explored the residential streets on the neighbourhood only to find this gem of a house, completely covered in stuffed animals and dolls. On first glance it appeared really whimsical, but after looking at it for a while, you start to notice how dirty and weather-beaten some of the poor stuffed animals really are, and it almost started to look Satanic. Anyways, I admire anyone weird enough to make their own house this extraordinary-looking, I can only imagine what its inhabitants look like!

How odd! That would freak me out, as I'm not a fan of dolls...but still pretty fascinating.

Best garden I've ever seen.
You're cute too

Bet the neighbors must love that.

What caught my eye in all that weirdness is the "closed circuit television on premises sign" THEY are watching you watching them.

BTW you look frumpy cute in that outfit.

I love houses like this! There's this insane political/hippy house near my house that I would really love to know the inhabitants of. That whole neighbourhood is full of weird or freegrowth houses and I love walking past it. I'll have to track this one down when I'm back in Toronto.

Imagine if it were covered completely in porcelain dolls. And over time, their faces would decay and break apart and when people looked at the house, they would be stared at by a hundred pairs of wide eyes peeping out of cracked, grimacing faces.. CREEPY.

There's no denying the ominous vibe emanating from that house. I'm getting the impression that it could be a modern take on the candy house Hanzel and Gretel encounter in the dark forest. That would explain the camera too. (checking to see if a child is alone)

I could never live near there. I'm scared of dolls as is!

I think it would be really funny if they were just a completely normal family/completely normal decor inside. That might be more creepy than the weirdness you are expecting.

Hehe, I bet the neighbours are very happy about this facade. Not. :)
The owners must be brave people - if you find out more about them, do tell!

That looks so cool! It's whimsical for sure, but definitely a little creepy. That just makes it even better. There's a similar house on my block that has a yard totally covered in all this crazy stuff, but it's more like lawn ornaments and halloween decorations (year round) than stuffed animals and dolls.

Wtf... don't stand too close to that house, it WILL suck you in and turn you into a demented doll version of yourself, and the witch inside WILL nail you to the porch for the rest of eternity.

You were in my hood! I just walked by that house the other day and remarked on the property value of the house next door....although it's Toronto and probs worth 8billion regardless.

Looks like Sonic Youth would live there... You're probably too young to remember their "Dirty" album!
